Thanks Kenny. I use a lot of canned tomatoes, too. Muir Glen is one of my favorite brands. I've done some blind taste tests with them and I can tell a flavor difference even in a dish that's cooked a fairly long time like chile or some of the recipes for pasts sauce. Other brands are good, but the Muir Glen tomatoes are great!

I eat a lot of tomatoes, usually cooked in soups, stews and sauces. Canned tomatoes are easiest to work with and I prefer to use organic with no salt added. My favorite brand is Muir Glen. They seem to have the best "fresh from the garden" flavor.

Scott, sounds like you're saying that blueberries don't need any adornment - plain is best! I like them that way, too, especially fresh from the bush. My neighbors grow them and are very generous with their berries!

I eat them as I'm picking them off my blueberry bushes in the summer. The rest of the year I get the frozen ones, put thawed ones in a bowl and eat them with a spoon.

Jane, I'm so glad you found the information helpful. So many of us eat this stuff every day without realizing it can be harmful. Please share the names of any nitrite/nitrate free brands you find! Thanks!

Thank you for spreading the word on the unhealthy side effects of eating soy based food products. Please also note that because over 90% of the soy grown in the United States is genetically modified, if you are eating fermented soy please be sure it is organic.

I know what would make labels more helpful - if it was required that they list all chemical fertilizers and pesticides used when growing the product, all chemicals used in the processing of the product, and list whether it contains genetically modified ingredients.

Thanks!
Mary Ann
